We are very proud to announce that Editions du Chêne is publishing in October 2010 the catalogue of the sale of the year: 700 never-before-seen unique, artistic photographs of Michael Jackson taken by Arno Bani in 1999.
A set of never before seen portraits of Michael Jackson will go on sale later this year. Among them is also the image in the left, called “Michael Jackson’s Blue Eye,” which was shot in 1999 and was considered a viable option for the cover art for the late singer’s 2001 “Invincible” album.
In July 1999 Michael Jackson asked Arno Bani to do an exceptional and secret photo shoot with him. The result of these two days together was 700 exclusive, artistic, unique photographs. They have been acquired by Pierre Bergé & Associates and will be sold in Paris in December 2010. There are 12 unique, never-before-seen large-format portraits as well as the complete contact plates annotated by The King of Pop. This will be a major event, for Michael Jackson fans and the general public the world over. Pierre Bergé’s auctions attract worldwide interest, such as the Yves Saint Laurent sale in February 2009.
The book will have the entire collection of photographs and is destined to become a rare collector’s item. Michael Jackson allowed Arno Bani complete artistic freedom and he therefore created 4 different scenarios and chose some of the greatest professionals from the fashion world to work with him: Yves Saint Laurent, François Lesage, Topolino, Seb Bascle, Frédérique Lorca, Maïda, etc.
June 25th 2010 marked one year since the King of Pop went into cardiac arrest and died from an OD and, even though there have been many developments in the investigation in his death, it remains as shrouded in mystery as it was one year ago.
The book will be published by Editions du Chêne on October 15th 2010. It will be printed in 5 languages (French, English, German, Spanish, Italian) and is available for your territory.

About the Authors:
Arno Bani
At the tender age of twenty he started doing fashion and beauty photography in Sweden, after starting his photography career in Paris. Isabella Blow from the Sunday Times noticed his work and his reputation and scope increased dramatically. Putting his talent to work alongside that of Ora Ito and Topolino, Arno Bani broke free of tradition and constructed a personal voice with a specific view of the feminine.
Michael Jackson noticed his work in the fashion pages of the Sunday Times and decided to entrust him with his image through a series of portraits. At the age of twenty three Arno Bani therefore found himself in front of a living legend.
His monochromatic approach to images is recognizable and widely published in such magazines as Citizen K, Spoon, Visionnaire and Jalouse.
Jeromine Savignon
Fashion historian and conference-giver at the Musée de la Mode de Marseilles, Jéromine Savignon has written several books on fashion and history: Jean-Louis Scherrer (Assouline, 2007), Jacques Fath (Assouline, 2009), Cacharel : Le Liberty (Assouline, 2003). She is also the author of the catalogue for the legendary Yves Saint Laurent auction sale in February 2009.
We represent this title in Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina.
